Egg Hawk

The Egg Hawk is a large avian-themed vehicle built by Neo Metal Sonic disguised as Dr. Eggman which appears as a boss in the Sonic the Hedgehog Series.

The Egg Hawk appears as the first boss of Sonic Heroes, where it is fought by each team of characters after completing Ocean Palace. The battle takes place on a large ring of paths connecting circular platforms, which the player will have to chase the Egg Hawk down. The Egg Hawk will constantly fire a stream of bullets in front of it from the machine gun in its mouth, and the two Egg Pawns mounted on its wings will provide supporting fire. The Egg Hawk must be chased to a circular beach arena, where it will temporarily drop to the ground and spin around, beginning its Rotary Attack and providing the player a chance to attack the boss. The Egg Hawk will then return to the air, and it will repeat this pattern until it is destroyed. After defeating the Egg Hawk, the team will move on to Grand Metropolis.

If the wings of the Egg Hawk are targeted by a Flight character using Thunder Shoot, the boss will be temporarily disabled which will give the player a chance to attack. The wings and Egg Pawns have separate health meters from the main body of the Egg Hawk, and destroying them will weaken the boss.

The Egg Hawk also makes two other appearances in the game. The first is as part of the Egg Albatross battle, where it is parked atop the blimp and fought as the final phase of the boss. The second is in the Ring Race level Egg Treat in 2P Play mode, where the vehicle will fire Rings instead of bullets. The Egg Hawk won't take any damage, though it will spill out Rings when hit, and it can still deal contact damage.
